The 7th Multi-GNSS Asia (MGA) Conference

”GeoSpatial Challenges in the Asia-Pacific Region”

The Seventh Multi-GNSS Asia (MGA) Conference was successfully held with about 190 participants from 17 countries in Brunei Darussalam, 7-9 December 2015, jointly organized by

  • BELS – Building European Links toward SE Asia in the field of EGNSS
  • GNSS.asia – industrial cooperation across continents
  • Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)
  • QZS System Services Inc.(QSS)
  • Satellite Positioning Research and Application Center (SPAC) of Japan.
  • Soartech Systems Sdn Bhd

and supported by

  • United Nations International Committee on GNSS (ICG)
  • International Global Navigation Satellite Systems Service (IGS)
  • Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism
  • Survey Department of the Ministry of Development

In this conference main theme was “GeoSpatial Challenges in the Asia-Pacific Region” thereby broadening the beyond GNSS to include related technologies and application including remote sensing and big data analysis relevant for South East Asian countries. Geospatial Challenges in the Asia-Pacific Region was showcased examples of Geospatial Applications for disaster prevention and emergency management and their potential in addressing challenges specific to the Asia-Pacific region.
